A great week highlighted with Matt Harris catching a surprise scaley mirror at 25lb, Matt fished the Xmas tree peg on a home made cell popup, the fish not noted before by fishery staff, must have grown on in the lake and evaded capture. The first cat of the year at 20lb 2oz wad caught by Paul Baggott who receives a free session next visit. Craig Randall had a roll fishing the big point with a 7 carp haul best 20lb 6oz common then 18lb 3oz common, 17lb mirror, 15lb 2oz mirror, 15lb 10oz common and two low doubles. Andy Hyden 18lb 4oz mirror, Paul Baggott 20lb common,13lb common. Malc Withnall 19lb 12oz mirror and 20lb 14oz common. Ben Rowley 16lb common and 14lb 14oz leather. Lastly 15 year old Jamie Jones 19lb 6oz common. A reminder to all specimen anglers that use receivers, leaving lines in then walking either round the lake or using the lodge, you should wind your lines in first, apart from breaking our rules and EA rules on unattended rods, a screaming run will result in possibly a fish death if it got tethered in the snags! A catfish can take off and reach the other side of the lake in seconds! Be warned and wind those lines in.
