Recycled & Reused Glass

One of the more interesting (and environmentally friendly) uses of a kiln is to modify bottles so that they can be reused. On the right a small pickle jar has been slumped to fabricate a spoon rest.  Almost any kind of bottle can be used and yes, we do now buy by bottle shape and colour rather than contents !
To the left, a smallgreen beer bottle has been slumped just enough for the top to fall onto the base but not enough to flatten the sides.
To the right, a red wine bottle slumped so that most of the body is flat. Ideal as a cheese board. Above, a group of olive oil bottles, which placed close together in the kiln, have slumped together.
