Fused Glass

Glass is heated to about 800 C in a kiln and held until the pieces melt into each other. Adjusting the temperature and hold time affects how much fusing occurs and the roundness of edges. Glass tends to flow to a 4mm thickness so thicker stacks will spread and thinner stacks will pull in.

The fused glass can then be further treated by slumping over a mould to give shape to the piece.
