Significant Achievement: In 2013, in the role of Faculty Equality and Diversity Officer, Dr Antony coordinated the application successfully for the Faculty of Engineering Athena Swan Bronze Award in recognition of our success in recruiting, retaining and promoting women in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET).  This recognises faculty’s commitment to women in science and engineering with a national accolade.

     Current Duties:

 

Tutor for Year-2 Chemical Engineering Programmes (2014-date)

Duties: Overseeing and supporting the student experience during an academic year of study in regards to year2-specific tasks

 

Member of Internationalisation Committee at the Faculty of Engineering (2015-date)

Duties:  Promoting chemical engineering at the internationalisation activities of the faculty; and leading the development of strategic collaborations with four Indian universities, viz., NITT, KCT, PSG and HU.   This is primarily focused on developing joint 1+1 MSc courses, and a range of other academic activities including research and summer school at the University of Leeds.

 

Engineering Faculty Board Member (2010-date)

Duties: Strategic planning and review of all activities in the faculty of engineering.

 

 

In the past:

 

Equality and Diversity Officer in the Faculty of Engineering (2005-2013):  Main Duties are: Working with the Faculty Equality Committee to develop and maintain the 3-year faculty diversity plan; Promote equality and diversity issues across the faculty; Undertake occasional briefing sessions/training on equality and diversity within the faculty with the support of the staff of the Equality Unit; Participate in ad hoc working groups established by the Equality Unit and contribute to the development of policy and practice; Produce written reports for both the faculty equality committee and by agreement for the Equality Unit; Contribute to the monitoring of the Faculty Diversity plans in the wider university through membership of monitoring panels; Represent the faculty on the University Equality Committee, as appropriate; Act as a first line contact within the faculty for information and advice on the diversity issues.

 

Engineering Faculty Learning and Teaching committee (2009-2012)

Duties: Strategic planning and review of teaching and learning activities in the faculty of engineering.

 

E&D representative of SPEME (2010- 2012)

Duties: To represent the interests and issues of Equality and Diversity for the School of Process, Environmental and Materials Engineering at faculty level.

 

SPEME DTA Scholarship Committee Member (2008-2011)

Duties: To operate an efficient and transparent mechanism for the selection of DTA PhD studentships at the school level.
