In a first for this area Dornoch Community Association are to hold a Model Fair on Saturday 11^th October in Dornoch Social Club.

 

Doors will be open from 11am until 5pm with all proceeds going towards refurbishment of the Social Club Building.

 

The man behind this show is Brian Fraser who is Vice Chairman of the Community Association.

 

Mr Fraser says that the idea for a Fair of this type came about at a recent meeting where the committee were discussing new types of event that could be run from the building. We are probably about 75% through renovating the building with major repairs to the flat roof and kitchen area still to be undertaken. I have been a model maker since my childhood starting off wit Airfix planes and working up to fully liveried scale models of lorries.

 

The show allows modellers and collectors to display there differing types of models to fellow collectors and the public. No doubt a lot of useful knowledge will be passed to and fro during the day.

 

In attendance will be Caithness Model Club, Pentland Model Boat Club, Inverness Model Railway Club and various private exhibitors. Also attending will be various sales stands allowing people to undertake some early Christmas shopping.
