Creative Collaborations
Jamaican Dub Poet, Yasus Afari, Director of the 'Jamaica Poetry Festival' and ‘Poetry in Motion’ and Liz Millman, Director of Learning Links International have worked together since 2007.
We now have some funds to make a start on a project called Creative Collaborations (we realise it may need a more interesting name and more time!) to celebrate and showcase poets from Jamaica and Jamaican poets in the four UK countries together to explore best ways to use online opportunities to share poetry and creative arts.
We have close links with the Jamaican High Commission and this project includes links with JCDC to develop Jamaican Culture Club family sessions in UK.
The bid is written with a Caribbean focus, but we will start with a Jamaican focus and make it more personal.
First though we need to make a link and see if you might be interested to be part of the Project Team developing this.
Liz Millman is also part of a team who run www.blackhistoryconversations.com We are joined most weeks by Vivian Crawford or one of his colleagues, from the Institute of Jamaica and community and academic researchers from around the world.
