CLUB HISTORY

A Brief Club History
With the help of willing parents Callowbrook Swifts was launched on 30th April 1996 by Club President Steve Rudge, to give youngsters in the Rubery, Frankley and surrounding districts a new opportunity to play soccer.
From the original 16 players the Club soon expanded to 30 players and continued to grow. The venture was an overwhelming success and the inprovement in the clubs fortunes was largely due to the hardwork of the boys, the parents and the facilities offered to us by the Staff and Governors of Reaside Middle School, for which we will always be indebted to them.
That first season ended with a record of 1 win, 2 draws and over 20 defeats and we were the butt of many jokes. Gradually, over the seasons, we have watched the Swifts gain many honours, which is a testament to all of our volunteers who work so hard. The Swifts can now compete with the best of the teams both locally and nationally.
2001 was a milestone in the club's history as we gained the prestigious FA Charter Mark at Development level.
2002 saw the Club's first girls football team. In 2008 the Club managed to raise enough funds to buy our first portacabins, which enabled us to have male and female changing rooms and toilets.
