My New Scarf

by BuzyS - 17:39 on 13 March 2016

lace trimmed scarf I had a very plain scarf in a fine soft cotton. It needed dressing up and some weight added to the ends.

I used a lovely pattern from Claire Burkhard's book 50 New Bobbin Lace Patterns. I love the pattern. It is easy to work and has just a few pairs of bobbins.

I scanned the pattern into the PC and did manipulate it a bit to make the leaves more elongated.

i wanted the lace to be soft to touch, to match the fabric so worked using a cotton perle thread. I took to pieces a bracelet I bought quite a while back. it had silver colour hoops, glass beads and pearls. It did not cost very much!

I am so pleased with the result and have received nice comments when I paired it with a black jumper.
