The Dyffryn Woods Saga
We feel it would be wrong if we said nothing about the cutting of trees in the woodland at the residential area known as Dyffryn Woods.
It began when the NPT Council lifted the Tree Preservation Order (TPO) to reduce the level of their administration work.
This appears to have given the green light for some residents to fell trees and construct elevated patios using decking boards.
We place the blame with the council for removing the tree protection and failing to reinstate a new TPO as they did in other nearby areas.
We hope that what has been done will be a lesson for all concerned and that nothing like this will ever happen again. We also hope that some tree planting will be done to make up for what has taken place in an effort to restore the area to an acceptable standard. Perhaps some sensitive landscaping could be carried out to lessen the visual aspect of the rather stark man made structures.
