We will open for two 1 hour sessions each afternoon, starting at 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm and 3.20 pm to 4.20 pm. Doors open 1.30 pm. on both days. The 20 minute break is to clean and sanitise the rinks.

To comply with the latest Welsh Government’s instructions the club have reaffirmed its rules.
To All Members,
The volunteer is the working manager for the day and represents our club and enforces its rules on your behalf. It is right for them to remind you if you should forget the pandemic regulations governing play at any time . Without the volunteer we cannot open. Please be patient - they also have a set procedure to follow under the regulations.
The Club Covid officer is Mr Elwyn Evans. He will gladly advise you if you are not sure.
You must wear your face mask over your nose and mouth
If you are exempt from wearing a mask, you may wear a face shield. This must down over your face at all times, especially the mouth, not pushed back off your face on to the head.If you cannot wear either mask or shield you cannot enter the premises.
Please sanitise your hands as you enter the foyer.
Remember the distancing rules. Clean and sanitise the rinks each end when you have finished. Use just one seat on the rink area and clean it after use.
updated 18 Nov 2020

I am please to say that after lobbying from the national supporting body, Bowls Wales, and the Welsh Indoor Bowls Association. the Welsh Government has amended the instruction and allowed play according to size of green and area per club for social distancing. A six rink green will now be allowed up to 24 players plus operational staff per hour.

Social Distancing on rinks:

Games with player numbers above four will be allowed with the adjoining rink closed. As we cannot afford to operate with closed rinks, these games will play mostly on rinks one and six to keep costs to the minimum. Also games above four will be fitted in with rink availability where possible.

Updated 12 Nov 2020

The Welsh Government has issued the following update for indoor activities when we come out of the present firebreak lockdown on November the 9th. All indoor activities numbers will be reduced from 30 to 15. This ruling gives us two choices either to close the club or to carry on at the reduced number. Both choices mean we will be using our reserve funds.

After discussing the choices with the treasurer and weighing the pro’s and con’s it was decided to try and give some sort of service to members with the best value for money. We will need to make a few changes which are as follows:-

Games of six players per rink will no longer be accepted. Maximum players per rink will now be four.

Singles Leagues, will carry on as normal.

Pairs League, Tuesday afternoons. This league will still carry on with the following changes with the approval of Mr Jim Edwards league secretary. Weekly Games drawn on rinks, 1,2,3 will play from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm. Games drawn on rinks, 4,5,6 will play from 2.30 pm to 4.30pm. Games missed over the latest lockdown period to be played at the end the league fixtures. This includes Singles and Pairs.

BOOKING RINKS IN FUTURE

Bookings for rinks will no longer be taken in the office Booking for rinks can only be made by telephone on 01554 891 626 between 10.00am and 12.30pm Monday to Friday only Very Important. Please Do Not leave a message if you do not get an answer. Rink bookings on answer phone will be ignored. Please do not leave “call me back” to book a rink messages. They will also be ignored.

Thank you to Mr Elwyn Evans for allowing us to use this facility.

Covid regulations operating within the club will continue as usual with the emphasis on distancing.

We are keeping a close eye on funds during these trying times and will may make changes if need be.

Regards to all, David Docherty Club Chairman.

Bro Myrddin Bowls Club - membership for year commencing 1st September 2020

The Club’s 2020/21 financial year starts on 1st September which is also membership renewal date. Membership and locker fees shall remain unchanged which for the full year from 1st September are:-

·         Full playing membership fee - £35

·         Junior and social membership fee - £10

·         Locker fee - £5.

Please remember that you must be a full playing member to take part in any of the Club’s internal leagues or to play against other Clubs.

I know lots of members would love to have helped but are restricted because they are special shielding or distance measures were in operation.

Here is a way you can all help.

September the 1st 2020 is membership renewal, if we are still not open and you wish to continue your membership we would like your support. A request for payment will come closer to the date. If we are still closed we will request payment to be sent to the treasurer Mr Elwyn Evans at his home address.  This will be more secure. Do not send it to the Club  Elwyn's address will be given out at a later date. The cost of membership remains the same £35.00 for playing members and £5.00for a locker. Of course if we are open payment can be made in the usual way. Forms were sent via emai.

Bro Myrddin Bowls Centre is operated entirely by volunteers from the Club’s members. There are no paid staff. New volunteers are needed to help run the Bowls Centre at different times on a casual or permanent basis or you may have a skill such as carpentry, painting, etc. If you can help in any way, please complete the back of the membership form.

We are Now Open although play will be limited updated October 2020
