With the 1st X1 game off today we sent two club officials to check out title rivals Bedale Town in their match against Otley Rovers.

This was an evenly fought encounter and with the season drawing to a close it would have been all too easy for Otley to have taken their foot off the gas. Not a bit of it, they ran Bedale to the wire and the game could have gone either way, althought in the last 5 minutes Bedale had some great close range chances to secure the points.

This Otley side is shaping up to be a really useful outfit having won at Albert and held both Bedale and Bramham on their home grounds, they have a real chance of lifting the medal shield this year.

They are mobile up front, solid at the back and in Caz possess one of the best centre backs in the league.

As for Bedale they are always capable of grinding out results withour perhaps being spectacular and that is why they are challenging for silverwear season after season.

A 0-0 draw on the day, not a bad result for Bramham!
