Kirby Malzeard Res 3 Bramham Res 3
17 January 2009

Theres no greater respect you want as a visiting team than when  the home side consider the match their biggest game of the season.

With Lockhart and Lloyd both unavailable it was captain Hulme who bravely took over the keepers gloves. There was a welcome return for Danny Nicholls and Dave Easby.

Bramham dominated throughout the first half played almost entirely in the home sides half, but against the run of play Kirby took the lead on a rare attacking raid when Hulme was left exposed and was adjudged to have brought down their  striker for a spot kick which was comfortably conv erted.

Bramham were level after half an hour when Roberts long range drive left the home keeper grasping at air as it sailed onto the top corner  from 30 yards.

The homeside were a far more formidable force in the second half and took the lead on the hour mark. Easby was a hanfdul all afternoon with one of his best displays in a Bramham Shirt and his interchange with Roberts and pinpoint cross allowed Wild to head home from 6 yards out for a classic finish.

Nicholls replaced the injured Easby and immediately made an impact volleying a near post cross home from close range to give Bramham the edge.

Kirby batterred away at the visitors dedence and eventually got level from a fiercely swerving corner which carrried on the breeze.

In the closing stages the game could have gone either way but a draw was a fair result on a heavy pitch with two totally committed teams
