Firsts Win Again

Following a good win in the Barkston Ash Cup two weeks ago and last weeks victory against Eccleshall United, Bramhams first team made it three wins on the trot with a hard earned 3-1 win against last seasons high flyers Sherwood.

 This is a game that would have probably ended up as a draw or even a defeat earlier in the season but with a new found confidence Bramham eased to a deserved 3 points

Having gone a goal down against the run of play Bramham had to waite almost 30 minutes before Jason Wright did what he does best and slotted home a one on one with the Keeper.

Following an injury to influential player Matty Fisher, half way through the second half, Player manager Paul Firth entered the field and wasted no time in putting Bramham in front with a 40 yarder over the keeper and under the bar, big assist to Mark Tasker.

Andy Linyard continued his goal scoring form by adding the third and guarantee Bramham all three points.

Good performance all round but special mention for Craig Buist who at 1-1 saved an almost certain goal when at full stretch (about 3 ft) he cleared a goal bound shot off the line. Craig was undoubtably the man of the match but good performances today from goalkeeper Tasker, another faultless display and captain Matty Dodsworth who again protected the back four with endless tackles to snuff out the opositions forward forrays   

A week off now for the first team then its the Barkston Ash quarter final at home to Kippax Athletic in two weeks time.
