Ewen thunderbolt sends Bramham through

Ewen Saves Bramham Blushes

A late Danny Ewen thunderbolt was enough to send Bramham through this awful cup tie.

Bramham yet again proved how well they can play against a strong headwind going in at half time at 0-0, but thats where the positives finish. Having taken an unlikely 1 goal advantage Tate & Lyle pressed the self destruct button and had two players sent off within 5 minutes. Playing against 9 men for 30 minutes Bramham struggled to take advantage and at times looked uncomfortable playing with the extra men. It took an own goal from Tate & Lyle centre half to bring Bramham level, but even with the pressure off Bramham struggled to make their numerical advantage pay. Extra time saw Bramham take the lead with a good solo effort from John Carrier. That should have been that, but Bramham have struggled to get what they deserve this season and it came as no surprise when Take & Lyle equalised with only minutes to go. As our thoughts were turning to penalties up stepped Danny Ewen to score what is believed to be his first ever First team goal with an unstoppable 30 yarder into the bottom corner.

Awful match, poor preparation, shocking referee. And believe it or not this team were within minutes of looking for a new manager. Things need to improve and quickly!!!

Last eight now for Bramham along with: Aberford, Kippax Ath, Clifford, Sherburn, Tadcaster Albion res, Bardsey & holders Wetherby.
