OULTON JUNIORS 1 BRAMHAM JUNIORS 7

Played at home because of Oultons waterlogged pitch,we began a little nervously, perhaps because expectations were high, but a sweet left foot strike from Tom Hodgson found the net, and our confidence flooded back.Alex Pearce was causing all sorts of trouble for Oultons defence, and this brought him 2 goals, his 5th in 3 matches, and his partnership with the speedy Matthew Bulley, who also added 2 goals, was too much for the visitors,as we dominated the first half.A neat finish from Alex Taylor took the halftime scoreline to 6 - 0, thoroughly deserved as some of our football was outstanding.Early in the second half a fine move was finished by Sam to take us to 7 - 0 up, but following this we were a little disapointing forgetting to use width, and although we created many more chances failed to score again indeed conceeding a goal to Oulton, who improved in the second half. Overall our midfield were superb, with Tom Wilson just edging out Joe Edmonds as the man of the match, but every man played his part in a fine victory, and we remain unbeaten at home this season.

Once again well done boys.

PROSPECT J 1 BRAMHAM J 3

The boys played today in awful conditions with gale force freezing cold winds blowing over the Calverley teams pitch

and we feared the worst when once again we only had 10 players, but the fighting spirit we showed more than made

up for our lack of numbers. We troubled Prospect with our pace, and M Bulley and T Hodgson had the home defence in

turmoil throughout the first half, in which Matthew Bulley and Joe Edmonds scored good goals, and with more clinical finishing

we could have had 7 or 8. Playing against the wind in the second half we defended solidly and moved further ahead when

Matthew Bulley scored his second, and although we conceeded a goal 10 minutes from time, our captain Robert Thomas

and man of the match Liam Gavin were excellent in a superb defence. We again missed many one on one chances in

the latter stages, but the boys should be proud of themselves to dominate a match where the opponents had a full team

plus subs against our 10 men.

WELL DONE BOYS

Bramham Juniors Under 8’s and Under 11’s September News Letter.

On Sunday 17th September 2006 we received the exciting news that we have won a competition.  Three photographs of our boys and one of the Under 13’s girls have been selected to appear in a calendar supporting the N.S.P.C.C. These calendars will be going on sale in the next couple of months at a cost of £5.00. We hope each family will purchase at least one calendar to raise funds for the Bramham branch of the N.S.P.C.C. Not only would you be supporting a very worthy cause, but also you would be buying a ‘priceless’ memento of our children’s time with Bramham Junior F.C

During July and August, we were able to buy the following much needed supplies for our teams;

5 mitre fluorescent training balls size 4

1 ball carry net

10 blue training bibs

10 yellow training bibs

6 slalom poles

1 referees whistle

1 team kit bag

1 medical bag

Medical supplies

Water bottles

Many thanks to the people who donated items we could sell/raffle at the two galas and the joint fundraiser, on another occasion with Bramham Primary School. Also a big “thank you” to the people who gave their time to work on the stalls, particularly Hazel Adamson, Sharon Mitchell and Tony Cannon.

We must also extend our thanks to those parents who have donated contributions for the teams. All donations given to our teams will be used solely for the purpose of extending our training equipment range and/or kit. Please keep those donations coming in!!!

As many of you may know, we are not in a league this year. However Mick Wright has been in consultation with other managers and as a result we should soon be playing regular matches on a friendly basis. As soon as we have the fixture list it will be forwarded to you.

It would be most helpful for our records if we have a passport size photograph of each of the players and a photocopy of their birth certificates. This enables us to sort out any disputes that may occur (over age etc…) during matches. As we are not playing in the league, we have decided to waver the £10.00 signing on fee for this year. However we would still like each player to pay a nominal fee of £5.00 payable before the end of October please. This would help to cover administration costs and other charges we may incur during the season.

At the end of last season we served tea, coffee, crisps etc… at our home games. This was most welcome by the spectators and players alike. We will be again offering this service, so if you are able to help at any time please let us know. Another idea was to sell raffle tickets. This was a fantastic fund raiser so if you have a small item you would like to donate as a prize i.e. Teddy Bear, chocolates etc… well you know the routine by now!!!

I will be ordering back-packs printed with club initials These cost around £10.00 for a bag or £16.00 for a bag including a calico football and personal drinks bottle. The price could be slightly less if I order over 15 bags (of the same type). Please see me if you are interested, I have a brochure so you can see which you think you would prefer.

Bramham Football Club is in the throes of up-dating its web-site. If you have any ideas you would like to share with us for this project, then let us know. It is also possible that we could e-mail news letters to interested parties in the future. Please give us your e-mail address if you would like to be included in this project.

We will continue to text you if, for any reason training or matches are cancelled. If possible, could you afford us the same courtesy if for any reason you are unable to attend. Your co-operation will be appreciated.

And last but not least a huge thank you, to our players and future football stars. Together we can build a strong club, that not only we are proud to be a part of, but also one that other clubs respect and covert.

As managers (still finding our feet) we have been gratified by the amount of pleasure the children receive by playing together as a team. Not only are they receiving football training they are also obtaining lessons in good sportsmanship and bonding with other children from our community all whilst exercising. Long may it continue.

Lindsey Cannon and Barry Mitchell Under 8’s and Under 11’s managers.
