KS2 Football Tournament

Wednesday 16th October 2013 saw the KS2 Boys football tournament. The tournament involved 5 teams take part from Roecliffe Primary School, Great Ouseburn Primary School, Green Hammerton Primary School and Nun Monkton Primary School.
The day didn't start well with torrential rain falling for most of the afternoon. However we managed to move the competition into an indoor venue!
Once underway, the festival format for this tournament was a round robin, so all of the teams participated in a matches agaisnt the another teams. Throughout the festival there were demonstrations of fantastic football skills and ability. As a result, when we went into the final round of matches two of the teams where not only tieing on points but also on goal difference!
However, following a close match Great Ouseburn Primary School were crowned victors of this festival with Green Hammerton Primary School coming second overall.
One special mention needs to go out to Roecliffe Girls football team, who entered the girls tournament as the only team. The girls were invited to participate in the boys tournament and displayed some excellent skills against the other all boy teams! As a result they automatically qualified for the Level 2 girls tournament.
