Dodgeball

by Kate Taylor - 18:57 on 10 October 2013

The Boroughbridge cluster dodgeball festival took place this year on Wednesday 9th October 2013.

This event was very popular with nearly 180 children attending making up 16 dodgeball teams. The festival involved the teams playing in a round robin tournament in 4 pools and the winner of each pool qualifying for the semi finals.

The round robin competition was a close but Roecliffe, Boroughbridge, Great Ouseburn and a combined Long Marston and Nun Monkton team won their pools.

In the semi finals Boroughbridge played Great Ouseburn in a fantastic match which saw Great Ouseburn beat Boroughbridge to gain a place in the final.

The second semi final Roecliffe played Long Marston and Nun Monkton. This was a very close match, however Roecliffe came through as the winner to grab a place in the final.

Therefore, Great Ouseburn and Roecliffe headlined the final. The final was watched by a crowd of over 200 spectators (made up of the other teams and supporting adults). The final was a fantastic spectacle, with Great Ouseburn coming through as the overall winner of the competition.

A big well done to all children who took part in the competition and and even bigger thankyou for the Young Leaders from Boroughbridge High School who assisted on the day.
