Sport Council

In December both myself and Alison Sheldon (from Great Ouseburn). Got the exciting oppotunity to apply for a grant from the British Olympic Commitee's education programme 'GET SET' as part of the London 2012 legacy.
We therefore put forwards an application and later in the month were informed that we had been successful.
As a result I travelled to London to the British Olympic Commitee Headquarters to accept the grant and for a training day of expectations.
Following this, we have set up a Sport Council. The Sport Council will be for Year 5/6 children from across the primary cluster.
Each school will be invited to open up applications and choose 3 children who have applied.
The children will spend several leadership days with myself and Alison learning how to be leaders and gaining a nationall recognised qualification. With the final aim of the project for the children to set up lunch time sport clubs in their schools to increase sport participation and also to plan and organise a cluster wide sports day on World Sport Day in June!
