Memorial Haiku…..

Last weekend my Alma Mater, Lampeter University, held a reunion - a particularly poignant reunion as the College is losing its students to Carmarthen….….

I couldn’t go to the reunion - I don’t travel at all these days -  but the  ‘SDUC: 1975 and all that….‘  FB page was full of photos and memories of a good get-together.

Pete Bagshaw set a task for an Eng. Lit. student to write a Haiku about the re-union and then proceeded to write one himself, which I think is absolutely excellent – catches the situation perfectly.

“Summer reunion

College friends in Autumn years

Relive our Spring days”

I often post friend Bart's Fraikus (Haikus written on a Friday) in m’blog……

It’s a complex form which, to be honest, I can't get to grips with.  I'm always amazed at how Bart encapsulates so much in so few words - and the same is true.... of Pete’s Haiku!
