One Thing Leading To Another….
My chum Eamonn posted an item on his Facebook page about an eejit who shot himself in the face when trying to shoot an Armadillo…

“Blimey - that takes me back - I had that album. In fact - I saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer in St. George's Hall, Bradford in 1972/3? Not sure of the year - it was a long time ago - but a strong memory!”

“I got the album with the dove on the front when I was 15, then ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ and ‘Tarkus’. ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ was the one I liked best. When they came to play in Bradford – our home town, me & my pals went along – of course we did – could only afford seats ‘in the gods’ – but it didn’t matter. Those three men filled that hall with sound – no problem.
Then Greg Lake did ‘I Believe in Father Christmas‘ and I thought ‘Eh? What’s happened to you?”
Still – my memory is of ELP - playing proper.”
This sparked my interest – I Googled to find the exact year that I saw them – which was 1972. While searching, I saw a link to a ticket being sold for that gig….

Row J – in the gods – could even have belonged to one of my friends that I went to that gig with. Maybe stretching it a bit - but – who knows?
I noticed that the ’damage’ to the ticket consists of tape marks top and bottom. That’s what we did with our ticket stubs - stuck them up in our rooms, using sticky tape. I had a row of them above my bed, over my picture of Robert Plant – a Peacock in a Peacock chair – legs akimbo - showing his chest.

Friend Jeanne painted a picture of the sky above the Ring of Brodgar……she had cards made of the picture….she gave one of them to me for my birthday…...I saw the Goddess in the Sky and wondered had she painted her there on purpose?
Jeanne does things like that…….

Jeanne emailed to say that she didn’t paint the face in the sky on purpose - she says it’s….. “another of those unknown wonders...”
