Coming Up to Easter….. Remembering Lockdown…PS....

Coming Up to Easter…

A reminder that chocolate is very bad for dogs – it damages their liver and can be fatal.  I’m not exaggerating.   They’re better off with a tasty dog treat, some of which smell very tempting!

Remembering Lockdown…

On the 23rd of March John Ross Scott posted a reminder on his Facebook page that it was four years ago to the day that Lockdown started, and asked for memories of that day.

This resulted in a lot of responses which were singularly lacking in sense or reason, over which I will draw a discreet veil.

There were some genuine, strong memories, including one woman remembering the lights & jukebox being turned off in the Flattie – the doors were locked and people agreed to meet up there again when it was all over. That never happened.

I thought I’d contribute my tuppenceworth and typed  ‘Covid Bernie Bell’  into the ‘Search’ box in The Orkney News thinking to post a cover-all link to what I’d written – I’d forgotten how much I wrote about Covid!

So I posted three pieces, going through from the early days of Lockdown…

…to the ‘Last Times’ produced by Lockdown…

…to our most recent brush with the vile disease, and how we mean to, hope to, deal with it from now on…

We all went through hard times- and those hard times are still having an effect on individuals and Society. The only thing to do is live in the present with hope for the future - that's what me & Mike are trying to do.

PS

In the garden this morning…Snow (note Rookie waiting patiently on the cross-bar of the bird feeder)…

Rookie!....

A delicate Primula braves the snow…
