Fraiku: Audre Lorde

I am not one thing
each aspect a note in a chord
and I am the song

For Women's History Month, a haiku for the great Audre Lorde, 1934-1992. She described herself as a "black, lesbian, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior, poet". I was going to use that in the haiku but then I realized she already did it perfectly in 17 syllables. If you haven't read much of her work, check out to start Who Said It Was Simple.

Not asking for money….all they ask…all I ask…is that you nominate The Ness, and ‘spread the word’…..

Go on go on go on go on go on go on go onnnn!”

…and I’ll say it again….

PS

In the garden - a Skylark singing up above - a big Bumble-bee buzzing by me - a Hare lolloping across the meadow - Aubers the Pheasant strutting his stuff - Rookie loudly demanding extra food - Mr. Blackbird staking his claim to his territory (the lower part of the 'jungle') - Sparrers bathing in the Hedgehog's water-dish - ever-present squabbling Starlings -  SPRING.....and everything is waking up!
