The Orkney Vole….

We used to have a lot of Orkney Voles in our meadow….until the Stoats arrived https://theorkneynews.scot/2018/01/28/be-ware-of-stoats/ …and the Voles disappeared for a few years. This year they returned – we see their tunnels through the grass, and we even saw Voles scurrying about.

The Orkney Vole is not only very, very cute – it’s also unique. Stoats are cute too – but - see above link for that argument!
