This had better be good !!!
Kirkby Malzeard A 1 v6 Bedale Res.
17th Oct
Stu, Charlie & Duffy all return and Bedale welcome back to the club Chris Monkhouse, WHAT A DIFFERENCE . A poor pitch& no ref.(thanks to the guys that stood in tho. )After a few indifferent performances we seem to get "back on it". Kirkby, without a reserve team game, field a stronger than usual team but are behind very early on to a Stu Adams opener, then slack marking allowed an eqauliser neatly put away. This was followed by an unstoppable left foot screamer from Ad Coombs (which the keeper was wise to leave alone)arrowing into to the top right corner ! The back four looked more settled with Kitch at leftback and were never troubled again in the match, but good possesion and controlled football proved to me too much for the hosts. In the last hour of the game Charlie,Monky and Burkey held the ball up well and helped Stu take his tally to 5 for the match. Well done this week boys but the bar has been raised, nothing less will be acceptable. Steve

Stu Adams injured,Charlie with the 1st team and a new midfield. We welcome Ad Coombs back to the fold after injury but rather tellingly,we miss Duffy for the first time this season.A very much subdued performance again, very little bite in the team at all,Mego had a great game in midfield and Thomo was class at left back. the back four had little to do Ben hardly had a save to make but missed chances with 4 one on ones not put away, tell the story. These missed chances gave belief to Thirsk that it might be their day and a much improved effort from them proved fruitfull.I can only think that the Thirsk coach will have been thrilled at the effort put in by his boys and I would have to say they earned thier point.Again a strong side on paper failed to deliver !
Reeth&District 2 v 1 Bedale res. (County cup)
3rd Oct
We went to Reeth in't cup it were a grand day, a bit bracing but the view were lovely.Ben back in goal Leigh Kinroy in the side and Stu back from the firsts. It meant nothing, Reeth took a first half lead and held on to half time.Bedale offered very little in reply and Reeth made it 2 with a well taken free-kick which was probably a penalty anyway ! Max picked up a consolation goal but 2-1 was probably what both teams deserved.
Best of luck to Reeth in the next round and Bedale beware, the coaches are not happy.
Wigton Moor Res 2 v 4 Bedale Res
26 sept
Two more new signings,no first choice strikers and Ben Heugh out of action with swine flu! A beautiful day a great set-up at Wigtons ground and Clarkey back in,all set for a good day! Twenty minutes are gone and Bedale are 2 0 down, defence all over the place, midfield bypassed and two different lads up front needing time to gel.Half time arrives with the score the same(time for a wake up call !!)With the troops in no doubt as to whats required of them, the second half begins, new signing Mark Watson gets on the scoresheet on debut with a smart finnish,Alex Wilson notches on return to the side and with a well taken far post header, A J puts Bedale in front. With a young side Wigton have put in a massive amount of work and played some smart football but the tide has turned an Bedale add a fourth through Steve Dawson. With a poor performance behind them Bedale can think themselves very lucky, having been outplayed for the larger part of the game but go into next weeks county cup match with Reeth knowing that in every game we have to work harder !! this is Steve Reed for the Bbc.
Bedale Res 4 v 0 Ilkley Town Acc.
Sat 19th Sept
Yet more changes to the team! Ali White comes in at right back, skipper Duffy moves to sweeper and AJ goes to centre half.Duffy and AJ put in their best performances of the season so far, Chris Dobson and Tom O'Gorman get their first starts and with Stu Adams deservedly gettin the call-up to the first team it's all change! Early chances to Woodward and Dawson go begging before Ilkley get a foothold in the game. Then an early sustitution sees Lee Mac ladmacleemacladmaclee replace Chris Dobson and a foul on the aforementioned Lee results in a stonewall penalty. This was despatched with some aplomb by Rob "to me feet" Titterington, bang on half time.
A goal inthe second half from Dawson settled the home team before a great solo effort by Charlie Marsh made it 3.Good work in the penalty area by Marsh and Miles resulted in Miles scoring from a tight angle 4-0
Great displays from the 16 yearolds this season gives good cause for optimism.AJ Woodward Alex Wilson Lewis Walton Jake Gallini Mark Donaldson Max Miles Chris Dobson Tom O'Gormanand Charlie Marsh have all performed better than could be expected and Steve is very proud of you all!!
Thanks to Dave and Keith for the help in keeping the 100% record
Ilkley Town Acc. 0 v 5 Bedale Res
Sat 12th Sept
Enforced changes to the line-up and a nightmare journey saw an ill prepared Bedale team take to the field against a very spirited accademy team from Ilkley.Clarkey came into centre back in place of Ben Palmer and Steve Dawson, returning from a foot injury, joined Matty Gibb in midfield. Despite the experienced heads in the team, it took a long time to break down the hard working hosts.Steve Dawson opened the scoring and Matty Burke added a second to make the half time talk a little easier on the manager on a very warm afternoon. The second half saw Bedale make very good use of possesion and the pace of Adams and Marsh up front,Adams notched 2 to add to an already impressive return this season and Max Miles got his first for the club. 5-0 flattered Bedale with Ilkley looking like the making of a very good team, in the end it was experience that told .Top perfomers on the day:- Clarkey was majestic and Max Miles worked really hard and is proving to be another good prospect along with Mark Donaldson
Team: Heugh,Duffy,Clarke,Woodward, Donaldson,Burke ,Gibb,Dawson,Miles,Adams,Marsh
Subs:-Dobson, T.O'Gorman
Bedale Res. 4 v 1 Helperby Utd.
Sat 5th Sept
The first home game of the season saw Bedale play hosts to a physically strong Helperby side, but early injuries didn't help the visitors cause. After good early chances went begging Bedale eventually took the lead after a corner when A,J Woodward rose to beat the defence with a well taken header,Stu Adams added a second with a breakaway effort before the interval. Second half into the wind and with instructions to keep the ball down and passes short Bedale took control with long periods of possesion.Charlie Marsh added a third and Stu Adams notched his second to make it a comfortable 4-0 scoreline. Before the game was over Helperby got a consolation goal when a long range effort sailed on the wind right over Ben Heughs head, the game was closed out with little trouble to a well organised Bedale midfield

Thirsk Falcons A 2 v 9 Bedale Res
Sat 29th August
Bedale travelled to Thirsk fielding a strong line-up including 6 16 yearolds in a 13 man squad. This didn't stop Thirsk taking an early lead after good use of a following wind.Stu Adams equalised before Thirsk again took the lead with a well taken goal from their skipper.Goals from Jake Gallini,Steve Thompson and Stu Adams saw Bedale into half time with a 4-2 lead. The second hald saw Bedale settle into their stride and a further 5 unanswered goals took their toll on a now despondant Thirsk team.Top performers on the day were Stu Adams and Steve Thompson with 4 goals apiece and Matty Burke in midfield.
Team: Heugh,Duffy,Palmer,Woodward, Donaldson,Gallini,Burke,Titterington,Marsh,Adams, Thompson

Catterick 1v 3 Bedale
Thurs 27th August
Steve Reeds team got off to a great start with afully deserved 3.1 away win which could have been even more if even a small number of the chances created had been put away . Having made a strong start , Bedale fell behind to Cattericks first breakaway , but soon equalised through a goal from Stu Adams . In the second half Johnny Coombs was rewarded for his determination when he scored from a header by outjumping the goalkeeper . More chances were created but missed before Stuart Adams fired home after good work by Matty Burke on the left . A great start for the new team with all 13 players putting in a good shift non more so than Matty Gibb in midfield and the 3 young players , AJ Woodward , Charlie Marsh and Alex Wilson .
Good to see at least 5 of the first team down there supporting the seconds and some of these players will be pushing for first team places if this form continues .
Team - Ben Heugh , Andrew Duffy , AJ Woodward , Phil Parker , Gaz James , Matty Gibb , Jonny Coombs, Alex Wilson, Stu Adams , Charlie Marsh , Matty Burke .
Subs Mark Donaldson , Steve Thompson, Dave Chapman
