About our Standards
PLEASE RESPECT THE GOLF COURSE AND THOSE PLAYING ON IT
It can be argued that the Course is any Golf Clubs greatest asset and it being in good condition is fundamental to golfers being able to enjoy their golf. A great deal of time and effort is spent ensuring that the course is maintained to the highest standards but every player who goes onto the course will damage it to some extent during the course of their game.
The effect of this damage can be minimised by golfers taking time to repair such damage and the steps laid out below, if followed, will go along way to helping everyone enjoy their round of golf a little more.
Please rake bunkers after use.
Please replace any divots you may take other than those taken on the tee boxes where divots should be filled using the sand/seed mix where available.
Please repair any damage to the putting green made by the impact of a ball (whether or not that is caused by the player himself)
On completion of the hole please do your best to repair any damage to the putting green that may have been caused by golf shoes.
The following will help to prevent any unnecessary damage to the course
Please do not remove divots when taking practice swings.
Please do not hit the head of the club into the ground whether in anger or for any other reason.
Please ensure no damage is done to the green when putting down the flag stick.
Please do not stand too close to the edge of the hole when handling the flag stick and removing the ball from the hole. The head of the club should not be used to remove the ball from the hole.
Please do not lean on your putter while standing on the green or removing the ball from the hole.
Please do not take trolleys between greenside bunkers and the putting surface.
Etiquette
The behaviour of those using the course can sometimes be a cause for concern and we would ask that all players observe the following guidelines to help all players enjoy their golf.
Never play a shot until you are sure that the group in front are out of range
If a player plays a ball in a direction where there is a danger of hitting someone they should immediately give a warning shout of “FORE”
Players should always show consideration for other players on the course and should not disturb their play by moving, talking or making unnecessary noise.
Players should not stand close to or directly behind the ball or directly behind the hole when a player is about to play.
A player should not stand on another players line of putt on the green or cast a shadow over a players line whilst he is playing.
It is the responsibility of each group to keep up with the group in front. If a group loses a clear hole and it is delaying the group behind it should invite the group behind through irrespective of the number of players in that group.
Where a group has not lost a clear hole but it is apparent that the group behind is playing faster they should invite the faster moving group to play through. The term “group” includes a single player.
If a player believes his ball may be lost or has finished Out of Bounds to save time they should play a provisional ball.
Players searching for a ball should signal the players in the group behind to play through as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not easily found. They should not search for five minutes before doing so.
