Gold Tone Whyte Laydie
I mentioned this one Hangout 1 but I think this interesting banjo is worth more informati on. I visted the factory (just down the road from Florida Space Centre) and they advise dme to contact a dealer in Georgia as no sales tax on imports. So I bought it form banjo.com in Marietta. The Gold Tone factory was later destroyed in a hurricane, but has been rebuilt.
Hidden behind the vellum is an 11 inch Whytel laydie tone ring, which makes it ring like a bell. This model is a tribute to the old time (1890s) Fairbanks Whyte Laydie with solid maple rim.
