Yuping Li

An international artist who was born in Beijing, the capital of China, where she grew up and acquired her inspiration of art. She had already spent four years studying figurative painting at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts before being accepted by Edinburgh College of art to study for an MA , which she has now successfully completed. Her 10m long ‘people painting’ was the triumph of the Edinburgh degree Show in June 2009 and already part of the Edinburgh Art scene. Her most recent work is large-scale, dominated by people, buildings and street-life. Indeed the preparatory work which goes into these paintings is disciplined, extensive and quite remarkable in its own right.
