Well, it is Mother's Day in Canada and of course Aileen was treated to a long lie, breakfast in bed and, just when the time was right, a warm bath filled and perfumed with scattered rose petals and precious oils ... or perhaps not!

After some presents, it was off for the boys to get haircuts at 10 am ... ah well, she is a Mum after all.

The weather has been lovely today, though, so owe put the dock in the water.  The kids were desperate to get out onto the water with the new kayaks, so they all took to the water and were paddling away quite confidently within minutes.  We think that these are going to become a great purchase, with lots of use and Aileen is now looking for an adult sized kayak as a be-lated Mother's Day present!

Afterward we had a BBQ on the deck.  All in all a pretty perfect Mother's Day!
