My WorkSince moving to Nova Scotia, I have continued both my legal and mental health work. While requalifying as a lawyer in Canada I worked at Nova Scotia Legal Aid in the Youth and Duty Counsel Office. Between March 2013 and June 2015 I worked as a solicitor and barrister with Weldon McInnis (www.weldonmcinnis.ca) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I had a general practice comprising criminal law, family law, civil litigation and health law focussing on consent/capacity issues, mental health and elder law. Since 2010 I have also worked for the Nova Scotia government, as a member of the Review Panel for the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act. Since 2012, I have sat as a panel Chair. I am currently on a one year leave of absence from this post. In June 2014 I began a new post as a Crown Attorney with the Public Prosecution Service in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
