This morning we went to the Christmas shop, then on the Kancamagus Highway over the mountains:

We went to Benton's sugar shack:

To watch them making maple syrup:

It was a really rural place and not at all set up for tourists which made it far more authentic.

We returned back to North Conway via Mount Washington:

There are lots of covered bridges here:

On the way back we happened upon an amazing model railway museum and store:

Nathan got some new things for his train set.  The building behind Nathan is the store:

 When we got back to North Conway we visited Zeb's - a very traditional store:

They even have an old fashioned soda fountain:
