Caraid competed in the Sodales (Dalhousie University) Atlantic High School Debating Tournament this weekend.
It was a much bigger competition, with schools from other Atlantic Provinces competing - we're thrilled...
Caraid was 2nd!
The style of this tournament was Canadian Parliamentary, so it's great that she has achieved what her coach terms 'outstanding results' in both British and Canadian styles.
Here is a snippet of Caraid debating:
The topic of the debate was 'This house supports the use of metal detectors in schools' and Caraid was on side Opposition.
The teams do not know the topics in advance, nor are they squirrelable. They are told the title and then have ten minutes to prepare before the debate begins.
