Today is our 16th Wedding Anniversary and it's also Canada Day so it's a national holiday.

We went to watch the parade in Halifax:

We sat on Citadel hill and watched the flypast and 21 gun salute which was noisy as usual:

Then, because it was such a beautiful day, we went to Peggy's Cove:

We met a Mountie:

Then we came home for a grill:

Later tonight there will be fireworks.

Caraid and Euan are busy doing lots of cooking right now, as our Canada Day weekend festivities continue - we have the LeBlanc family coming over tomorrow and the Wilsons on Sunday. 

Thankfully we then have some holiday time to recover.  We can't go to New England as we'd been planning because Nathan is still without a passport but we'll have fun doing lots of tourist things here in NS.
