We are enjoying the cold weather here - Sunday afternoon we spent skating on the lake and it was great. Now we have lots of snow too. For the second day recently Sacred Heart is the only school in the province of NS to remain open despite the snow. The plough driver piles up all the snow in their playground though so they can jump in it at recess - Brendan could not contain his excitement this morning!
Here the children are trudging up the drive - Caraid has Winter Carnival this week and today is Waikiki Wednesday, so she is in shorts! Yesterday was Toga Tuesday but she wouldn't let me take a photo of her in the toga, although I think one will be appearing in this years Year Book.

There is predicted to be another 40cm of snow later today so the children are hoping they too will get a snow day tomorrow.
Today is also Groundhog Day though - Shubenacadie Sam (the NS groundhog) has already been out his burrow and didn't see his shadow, so according to legend it will be an early spring this year. We haven't seen our personal garden groundhogs yet and I'd be surprised if they can surface though the snow right now.
