I went to a lecture last night at Dahousie given by Rt Hon Chief Justice Beveley McLachlin on the Challenges of Mental Illness in the Justice System - very appropriate given a lot of my work right now.  It was interesting but I had some issues with some of what she said - of course! Still, unlike the whole Disney success of a few months ago, I think I'll let this one go by in the interests of not harming my career prospects.

Caraid is thrilled to have been chosen for the Junior High debating team (of 2!) in this weekend's tournament, so she gets a weekend away at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick where I'm sure she'll have lots of fun.  If she keeps this up there are lots more opportunities for travel across Canada and internationally which is great.  I'm hoping they need judges for some of the more distant competitions again!
