Yesterday, after we had dropped Caraid off at the Church to go to camp, I took the two boys to Halifax where they were holding the Membertou 400 festivities - a Mikma'q celebration.
They had a great time, wandering around the wigwams, learning about the First Nations and hearing some traditional 'music' (?!). Actually Nathan was able to tell me lots about them, because every child here learns about Canadian history right through school.
These pictures show lots of wigwams on Halifax Commons and Nathan and Brendan in front of the Chief's wigwam - Nathan told me that's what the symbols meant.

Euan, Nathan and Brendan went on a canoeing course this morning which they absolutely loved. Brendan went to a birthday party this afternoon at the Clay Cafe - who knows what he made!
Caraid arrived back from camp this afternoon - she'd had a great time but wasn't sure she could do more than one night! Just as we got home, our friends from Newfoundland arrived to stay for a week. She then had an hour at home to have a shower, change over her things and put her clothes in the wash, before she left for a pool party and sleepover tonight. We're picking her up at 8am though because I'm playing at Church tomorrow, the Bishop is coming and Caraid is serving - roll on tomorrow afternoon when I can have a wee rest!
