We are pleased to inform you that you are invited to the 2^nd International Women’s Conference organised by Africa in Democracy and Good Governance (ADG) which is to be held in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo from 15^th to 17^th November 2007 alongside the 42^nd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR).

The theme of this year’s Conference is ‘'Women in Politics and Good Governance’'. The conference will bring together women political figures, activists and civil society organisations across the world particularly from Africa to review the state and progress of African women. This 3 days’ conference will provide the forum aiming at building NGOs and women’s capacity to actively engage in peace and reconciliation, in war-torn/post-conflicts reconstruction, actively participate in the democratic (socio-economic, cultural and political) processes in their country with the ultimate goal to promote good governance and destabilize the patriarchy system that is holding back women’s and society’s advancement.

The 2^nd International Women Conference is a great opportunity for civil society organisations to showcase their work and efforts as well as to network and meet with potential donors for support of their work.

Registration for participation to the Conference is $100 for students and NGOs and $150 for non-NGOs.

There is a limited number of full scholarships available for participants especially women and NGOs working towards the advancement of African women.

The deadline for registration and application for scholarship is on Friday 28^th September, 2007.

Applicants for scholarship should send in their resume and a letter stating their reasons why they should be awarded a scholarship. Women in countries experiencing conflict and those in transition will be given priority. All applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts.

We wish to inform you that acceptance of application for sponsorship is closed since 28th of September, 2006; please kindly note that we received hundreds of application and this comes in various languages which needs simultaneous interpretation and will later be forwarded to our panel of experts for scrutiny.

Please kindly note that only successful applicants will be notify by 31st of October, 2007, by which time also we shall notify our friends/colleagues of the logistic informations.
