Firstport are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a Cyber Essential Plus Certification which is an advancement on their basic certification.
According to Firstport this should demonstrate that all data is held safely and "customers" need have no fears.
Unfortunately, what Firstport don't mention is that the award is "paid for" to a private company(having surveyed their systems) basic certification costs in the region of £300 rising to £1,600 for the "plus" certification.
If you are a private company out to earn as much as possible is it not probable that you would "grant" the superior certificate? After all £300 Versus £1,600 income is a bit of a no brainer?
Sadly, and not without a deal of irony, About Peverel's attempts to investigate NCC the company employed by Firstport was thwarted as NCC came up as a high risk website to visit!
As far as About Peverel is aware, it remains the case that if you sign up to their computerised payment and information systems, you (unless you opt out0 are agreeing that your data can be sold off and that your details "May be held in countries outside of the European Data Protection area"
