Landmark Case Over Water Charges!

A landmark court case has established that a local authority added water an sewerage charges to the rents of council tenants.

This was judged to be unlawful, as it effectively meant that the local authority was acting as a re-seller.

It apppears that the local authority was paid commission by a water company to act as an agent  but failed to pass this commission on to the tenants.

Following the judgement 40,000 tenants are set for refunds that will cost the authority up to £28m.

Other tenants are preparing action in at least 24 other areas.

Thus far, Firstport have yet to comment as to whether they operate a similar system for development utilities?

Residents need to check this as they would be in line for significant refunds from Firstport.
