Are You Paying For A Neighbour's Debts?

About Peverel have particlar concern over Firstport's treatment of residents debts.

Of Course residents have to pay their due service charges. But in a case where a resident does not pay their service charge, there are many actions Firstport can take to recover money owed.

These range from court action, attachment of earnings, a charge put on the property, a payment from the resident's mortgage lender or even forfeiture.

So there is no reason for Firstport not to be able to recover debts for service charges.

And yet despite all this, About Peverel has learned that far from exhausting every avenue of recovery, Firstport simply add the unpaid amount to other resident's service charges, by taking funds out of the reserve or sinking funds.

This should be challenged!
