Charity Comes To Aid Of Firstport Residents

Roll Out the Barrel is a charity that is most usually used to supplying water aid to deprived parts of Africa.  In this they do a superb job.

However, as has been shown recently, their efforts are not reticted to Africa.

They have come to the aid of residents  of Crown Heights, Basingstoke, Hampshire managed by Firstport(wouldn't you just know it?)

Crown Heights suffered from a burst pipe which meant all the residents had to fill buckets of water from one remaining tap for several days.

They then had to carry the water up many flights of steps as (you really couldn't make this up!) the lift was also put of order!

So great was the demand for buckets it was claimed that local shops ran out of supplies.

Enter Adrian Brewer CEO of the Roll Out the Barrel charity, who loaded up a plentiful supply of water containers and journeyed from the Isle Of Wight to Basingstoke to help the residents out in the "days of their need."

A Firstport  representative  explained that the delay in fixing the burst pipe was 'due to having to source a specialist part" How often have we heard that excuse before?

Firstport have thanked the charity for their help and have promised to make a donation to them.

Clearly it can't be anything substantial as Firstport are about to receive a very large fine resulting from their admitted breaches of Health & Safety legislation in the Gibson Court fire case.

About Peverel understands that Crown Court residents have not yet nominated Firstport for a customer service award.
