Challenging Times For Appello.

According to Firstport owned Appello, their careline warden/intercom and alarm division are finding a challenge to source new contracts.

Heavily reliant on "captive customers" who are forced to use careline services at a much higher cost than for non-Firstport managed developments, Firstport are aware that as more developments conduct a Right To Manage action, they are actively seeking to purchase smaller companies offering similar services to maintain market share.

Clearly when seeking suppliers for careline services, those doing any kind of dilligence soon realise that Appello is Cirrus and find out about the systemic price fixing carried out against vulnerable pensioners, who have yet to be refunded the money that was stolen from them.

They will also be concerned that the report into the death of Irene Cockerton in the Gibson Court fire shows that a further call to Careline in a different part of the building was not passed on to the Fire Brigade, which would have alerted them that the fire had spread.

It would be a worry that recently a member of staff alleged that at times due to staff absence the staffing levels fell below the minimum contracted numbers, absent staff were signed in as working to comply with the contract.

Profits for the Appello group halved in the last published accounts. In addition the value of Cirrus Communications was written down by a staggering 1,285,000 pounds!

Appello are party to the 29,000,000 loan granted to Peverel/ Firstport that kept them afloat.

There are many companies that provide a very good standard of service at a far cheaper price, that are not in debt, do not owe the majority of their contracts to an abusive managing agent, and have not deliberately sought to cheat their customers to pay down debt.

About Peverel urges anyone thinking of appointing Appello to find another company.
