Recent media coverage has exposed the almost slave like conditions experienced by workers in Amazon wharehouses.

They show workers working long shifts, being monitored all the time (including toilet breaks) having six seconds to select items and walking up to 14 miles per shift with painful blisters on their feet.

It is important to stress that Amazon strongly refute these claims. 

That said, if true, it is difficult to understand an HR department tolerating this abuse.

So the appointment of Mandy Ferries a former senior HR advisor for Amazon by Firstport as their new Head of HR does not bode well in the new year for the working conditions of Firstport staff.
