Another Fatal Fire At A Firstport Development

On Saturday 12th November at around 9pm a fire broke out at Homepine House, Folkestone Kent.

Despite the very best efforts of the Kent Fire Brigade, a 90 year old resident succumbed to the fire. All at About Peverel send their sincere condolences to the resident's family and friends.

At this stage, there is nothing to suggest that Firstport were in any way culpable for this tragic incident.

However more details will be revealed by an upcoming inquest intio the death.

Homepine House was at the centre of a storm back in 2013, when Peverel/Firstport decided a very expensive fire safety upgrade was needed.

This was challenged by residents, who enlisted their local MP, who was of great heklp to the residents.

A Health & Safety report was carried out by the Kent Fire Brigade, which showed the the current fire protection systems at Homepine House were perfectly adequate and no upgrade was needed.

It is believed that at this point Peverel/Firstport backed down.

In a bizarre twist of fate, this fatal fire comes just two days before Peverel/Firstport are due to be sentenced at Guildford Crown Court over their admitted failures concerning the fatal fire at Gibson Court.

Of course it was the residents at Gibson Court that first discovered the price fixing scandal and it was the residents at Homepine House that discovered the fire safety upgrade scam.

Both developments have now had fatal fires!
