Many freeholders who live in their own house are victims of Peverel/Firstport.

Enter Peverel/Firstport, who were gifted contracts to insure and manage these areas.
Often they just take money and never do anything, or if they ever do something the overcharging is simply staggering.
A recent example was the case of shingle on a driveway. It is accepted that every so often shingle has to be added.
Having failed to do this for a long period, the homeowners decided to get it done themselves. For this they were charged 100 pounds.
A few weeks later a Firtsport appointed contractor turned up to do the same job(even though it did not need doing) and after 45 minutes work charged 600 pounds!
Came the excuse from Firstport "The homeowners should have looked at the website to see what works were scheduled" No comment was made about the sixfold increase in charges for the work.
