The Job Description Says It All!

Advertising for a Regional Manager responsible for 200 developments, Firstport as part of the job description quote the following attributes.

"Lead profitability reviews with PM's to ensure schemes remain profitable"

This indicates that some developments (probably the smaller non retirement ones that don't have added services such as lifts etc) are either not making Firstport any money or are actually losing them money. Therefore the RM will either have to find cost savings or find ways to increase income from those developments.

"Lead and support PM action plans for "At Risk" schemes ensuring preventative measures are in place for those that are vulnerable"

No surprise that Firstport don't want to lose any more developments. Literally hundreds are going to come under attack, particularly from Rendell & Rittner, who have just recruited Jonathon Astle from Firstport.

So those deemed "at risk" will either have service levels improved, or reduced management fees. This will be done at the expense of non risk developments.

If these methods fail, then Firstport will resort to the usual method of bullying and making it as difficult as possible for developments to leave.

" Drive revenues through major works projects or other relevant areas (Asset Management and Technical Surveyors) working across the team to build the revenue stream."

Simply put, this means that major works projects at Firstport managed developments will not be initiated solely by a need for those works, but is in part driven by a need to increase profits for Firstport.

For anyone disputing a major works project please feel free to use this article as part of your dispute.
