How Much For LED Lights?

Firstport Retirement, who still have been denied membership of ARMA after nearly 19 months are currently pushing developments to convert to LED lighting.

Clearly LED lights can be an advantage and do use much less electricity.

The savings have to be balanced against the cost of the bulbs, the lifetime of the bulbs the cost of installation, and of course whether Firstport Retirement pass on the reduction in electricity costs?

The vast majority of LED lights have a lifespan of between 3-5 years. These are the bulbs that can typically be bought in the High Street. It is believed they have an in built resister that actually increases electricity consumption and shortens the life of the bulb.

So the answer is to purchase Industrial Rated LED bulbs.

These are designed to have a life of between 15-17 years and are said to use 20% less electricity than the standard LED bulbs.

12 Industrial Rated LED bulbs can be purchased for 79 pounds.

It will be interesting to know how much Firstport Retirement wish to charge for the cheaper bulbs?
