Fire Evacuation Risk In Cambridge!

After many complaints about the blocking of an exit gate that was a vital escape for residents in the case of fire that were simply ignored, fearing for her safety one of the residents relations brought in the Cambridgeshire Fire Brigade to undertake a safety check.

Another concern raised was that the House Manager is the holder of a blue badge, because she has limited mobility. In the event of an emergency and given she can only walk a very short distance, this is clearly far from ideal if residents have to be evacuated.

To put it at it's best the representative from the Cambridgeshire Fire Brigade was rather dismissive of the concerns addressed to him, adding that he would not comment on any matters regarding Firstport.

In 2015 Firstport entered into an agreement for inspections with Cambridgeshire Fire Brigade. Firstport were the company that folowing the death of Irene Cockerton in a fire at Gibson Court, Esher sought in the inquest to blame Surrey Fire Brigade Fireman's actions for the death.
