Chickens Come Home To Roost. And It's Going To Cost!

In 2015 Peverel/Firstport found that due in part to poor pay and low staff morale they were woefully short of area/regional managers.

So they actively recruited new staff, such as Andrea Jackson, Peter Moore, Gareth Cayford, Nick O'Donnell, Richard Thwaites, Mike Ham,Chris Gurr and Andrew Leaver.

What is remarkable about these appointments is none of the above appear to have had any property management experience. Maybe it is but a sheer coincidence, but all of the above came from the collapsed Phones 4 U.

How selling a mobile phone qualifies them to be property managers is open to question?

Suffice to say, they were thrown in the deep end with very little meaningful training.

At that time, Peverel/Firstport were left with no choice. They simply did not have the numbers to manage their developments. Clearly those that were forced to leave Phones 4 U neded a job, even one they were not qualified to do and one that paid 20% under the industry norm for their job.

Peverel//Firstport have now realised they need more skilled area/regional managers and they need to retain the better ones they have.

At present Peverel/Firstport are losing too much to rectify glaring and basic errors from a workforce with a lack of skills.

Belatedly they have decided to increase the number of area managers to reduce their impossible work load and increase pay rates by between 15% and 20%.

This comes at a cost. So residents need to be aware of any subtle increases in management fees in order to finance the pay increases.

If you are an area manager and do not receive an increase you should complain to Peverel/Firstport..

As for other staff, from secretaries to house managers, your wages are below industry standards, you too should demand an increase in pay as well.
