What a considerate man Jonathan Astle of Peverel/Firstport must be?
After a long battle with a resident (which of course the resident had a convincing court victory) in the "interests of residents who would suffer if disputed service charges were not paid" Mr Astle has offered not just to write off a previously claimed non- payment of £10,808, but has said that Peverel/Firstport will pay £10,808 into the resident service charge account.
In return all the resident has to do, is drop any future claims ( it is thought that would save Peverel/Firstport around £40,000) and agree to yet another confidentiality clause so favoured by Peverel/Firstport, which seeks to hide yet another of their serial failings.
And since Mr Astle has told the resident that they have one week to agree to his terms, otherwise it will be "imposed", it rather looks like Mr Astle will have to pay the £10,808, with a further £40,000 to follow.
It would be unfair to heap all the blame for the latest Peverel/Firstport debacle on Mr Astle alone. Once again, Chris Owens, that redoubtable apologist for Peverel/Firstport fraud has his sticky paws all over this!
