Peverel watchers will be familiar with the stories of residents being trapped in their flats due to faulty lifts for several weeks. Whilst of course lifts from time to time will breakdown, it is the length off time the lift is out of action that is of great concern.
In previous cases a Peverel representative has said that the lift at X development has been out of action due to a unique set of circumstances that require a part to be manufactered abroad. This "unique set of circumstances" came under scrutiny when it emerged that Peverel had used this excuse for delays in repairs to lifts on many developments throughout the country.
And so on to Fairfax Court in York. Residents were without a lift for around 6 weeks. residents complained of being "trapped like animals" Guess what? according to Peverel a specialist part had to be made in Spain(it makes a change from Italy)
Given the vulnerability of residents that are so dependent on working lifts, one has to wonder who would install lifts that had so many obselete parts and why?
